About
My full name is Christopher William Horrell. I used to go by just Chris Horrell, but I got tired of that and now I prefer Christopher Horrell. I never use my middle name.
I created horrell.ca as a way to force myself to write on a regular basis, to improve my web design skills, and to just keep up with web technology in general.
I have a degree in English and Psychology from the University of Toronto and I also have a post-diploma certificate in Technical Communications (Technical Writing) from Seneca College. I’ve been gainfully employed in the IT department of Canadian Tire for over 7 years where I also dabble in a bit of web design, but not as often as I’d like. To remedy that, and to satisfy my obsession with all things webby, I’m do some work for Joyent.
As for my other interests, I try to run when I can, but I’ve been known to take extended breaks when life gets in the way. I’m a lot more consistent with weight training, actually. A few years ago I lost just over 50 pounds after joining Weight Watchers in June, 2004. I read fairly regularly and consume music at a steady rate as well.
